Saugeen Hospice Inc., an incorporated non-profit in Walkerton, is working hard towards designing and building a hospice ‘closer-to-home’ here in Brockton.  With the two closest hospices currently in Owen Sound and Tiverton, we need to be able to access hospice services in south Bruce-Grey year round.  The board consists of equal numbers of directors from Hanover, South Bruce and Brockton.  You can find more details on their Facebook page, and by joining their mailing list: askus@saugeenhospice.ca

The Walkerton & District Foodbank serves clients in many smaller nearby communities as well as Walkerton.  In 2021 they averaged 150 visits a month, with 25% of our visits being new referrals.  33% are children; 50% are single adults.  There has been a marked increase over the past two months and they are expecting over 120 families will be asking for a Christmas hamper this year.  Along with food, monetary donations are always welcome.

Walkerton & District Right to Life upholds the inherent dignity and right to life of every human being, from the moment of conception (fertilization) until natural death.  We exist to educate the public on issues which threaten this right, in an effort to promote respect for all human life in all its various stages.  We maintain a lending library of books, CDs, DVDs and pamphlets on topics ranging from abortion to euthanasia and many related issues in between.  If you would like assistance with an unexpected pregnancy or post-abortion healing, please call 1-866-LUV-BOTH.

We have chosen to donate the proceeds of this auction 50% to Saugeen Hospice and 50% to the Walkerton Food Bank (see our auction banner).

Donations are still being accepted.  To donate, please call Jean at 519-507-1956.
