The John Deere 3800 Advantage
The JD 3800 is a unique “crossover” machine that combines the visibility and reach of a telehandler with the tight turning radius and durability of an articulated wheel loader. Unlike traditional “side-cab” telehandlers, the 3800 features a center-mounted cab, providing the operator with superior 360-degree visibility and a familiar wheel-loader feel. The articulating joint allows the machine to “snake” through tight barn alleys or crowded yards where rigid-frame telehandlers might struggle. This unit’s combination of a telescopic boom and auxiliary hydraulics makes it one of the most versatile tools for a modern livestock or commercial operation.

These are provided for transport planning purposes and do not reflect the current mechanical state of this unit.FeatureSpecification (General 892 Series)Engine ModelJohn Deere 6-Cylinder Turbocharged Diesel (6466A or 6076A)Operating WeightApprox. 63,000 – 68,000 lbs (28,500 – 31,000 kg)Transport LengthApprox. 36 ft (11 m)Transport WidthApprox. 10.5 ft – 11 ft (3.2 m – 3.4 m)Height (Top of Cab)Approx. 10 ft (3 m)Track LengthApprox. 13.1 ft (4 m)Project OpportunityThe John Deere 892 series is a staple of the heavy construction and forestry industries, known for a robust undercarriage and high-flow hydraulic systems. While this unit is currently non-operational, its relatively low reported hour count makes it a prime candidate for a professional engine rebuild or as a high-value parts donor for an existing fleet. Prospective bidders should account for the machine’s significant weight and non-running status when coordinating heavy-haul recovery.Bidding Opens: Thursday, March 19th @ 12:00 AMLots Close: Wednesday, March 25th @ 1:01 PM ESTAsk the seller any questions by clicking the “? This design is engineered for high-speed cutting while offering superior protection; if an internal failure occurs, the modular design limits damage to a single segment rather than the entire bar. The center-pivot tongue (Hydro-Swing) allows the operator to mow on either side of the tractor, making it significantly more productive than side-pull models by eliminating the need for back-and-forth headland turns. With the steel-on-steel conditioning rolls, this unit is particularly well-suited for alfalfa and heavy grass crops where stems require a consistent crimp for optimal fermentation or hay curing.Bidding Opens: Thursday, March 19th @ 12:00 AMLots Close: Wednesday, March 25th @ 1:01 PM ESTAsk the seller any questions by clicking the “? Keith Stoltz’s first career was as a farm equipment dealer who understood that sitting equipment costs money!
To find a home for aging equipment, he began hosting live auctions at his dealership. With no online option available, he could only reach local people, who had to come in person to place their bids on stuff. And come back again if they had been outbid.
In 2021, Keith leveraged today’s technology to launch a better solution for buyers and sellers: Quickbids.Biz online auctions.
After receiving seller feedback, Keith realized he needed an option for dealers and businesses that didn’t have enough products to host their own auction, so Consign.Bid launched in 2024. Sellers could now join other sellers in an auction and sell stuff..
All of these efforts bring products to bidders who can shop from anywhere with an internet connection to find deals on equipment they need to run their properties or operate their businesses.
