The consignor did not supply a model designation, so model specific data cannot be matched to this unit. Note that this harvester is specified at 36 mm on all chains, narrower than a standard Double L build. The above represents general manufacturer information and may not reflect modifications or the current mechanical state of this unit.
Ideal For
The table stock grower who gets paid on appearance. Bruise is the whole economics of table potatoes, and this machine is specified for gentleness at every transition rather than for raw tonnage.
The 36 mm chains are the real story. A standard harvester runs 50 mm primary and 45 mm secondary, and small potatoes fall straight through those gaps. At 36 mm all the way through, creamers and minis stay on the machine instead of staying in the field. Narrow pitch. Gentle handling. Built for the small stuff.
The Double L Advantage
Double L has built potato equipment out of American Falls, Idaho for around fifty years, and the whole line is organised around one problem: bruise. Their C-Flex belted chain adds a C shaped cushion to the top of every rod, so a potato tumbling through the machine lands on rubber instead of bare steel.
Transitions are the worst spots on any harvester — a drop and a change of direction at the same time. Double L pads them. On this unit the C-Flex runs on the secondary, rear cross, side elevator and boom, which is every transition after the digger bed.
